What I like about the Academy!

So far in the Academy I like a lot of things expecily since it's a new semester! Right now I like how we are finishing assignments in class! It's really nice how everyone works really hard on our homework. The teachers have really took control better and came up with new projects that we really injoy doing.
This semester of the Academy is better then last and I'm excited for the rest of the year!

Water bottles or not?

If I had a choice to choose between having water or  not, I would say that we should not have water bottles because water bottles have bad chemicals in them and you can get water for free at bubblers. Why would you pay for something you could get for free? There is a reason we have bubblers, it's because people can't afford water and even if you can there is no point of getting a bottle that you will throw away and ruin the environment. There is a way to save our planet and it's not using water bottles.

My reflection on the Academy 11-25-11

This week was short, we only had three days. We presented our skits for science in front of sophomores.  I took my first test for Of Mice and Men. It was a very short week, and nothing really happened.

My reflection on the Academy 11-20-11

Last week of the academy was really fun. In art we made clay crystals. I really love working with clay, it's really fun! Then we took a test is science and worked on our skits, in social studies we worked on our project and we took a test. For Ms. Miller we took a retest and read our books Mice and Men.

For our books, I have been reading and doing the study guide but I didn't know that we weer supposed to highlight things in the book. I'm pretty far in it but I didn't highlight anything, I don't want to go back and read it all over again. I wish she told us before we started to read, and I know that it was probably on a Google docs but I don't always go on my computer. 

I think if we are assigned a project or reading a book, that the teacher should put the information on one document instead of three or two.

My reflection on the Academy 11-09-11

So far this week of Academy has been a little tough. On Monday we were in Mr. M's room right away, we did an experiment. Then we went to the Academy room and took the test on the two chapters we read for social studies. After we took the test we went to Ms. Millers room and worked on a project. We all went down to the Academy room to see how we did on our tests. Everyone failed except for Drew and Emma, I am being really honest right now, I did read the chapters and study them but it was so boring and hard to read I forgot what I was reading and it was hard to memorize everything. So now we have another test on Friday on the same chapters... so now I really have to get myself to get into this book. 

On Tuesday we were in Mr. M's room all day because we had to do a lab that would take like 3 hours... I was partners with Benji. That was a bad idea but I didn't pick partners so not my fault. Then the lab was frustrating because I needed directions on what to do but we had to do the project all on our own with our partners and I had no idea what to do, then Benji was really hyper so that was more frustrating. Then Aubrey saw that I was struggling so she helped me and Jace (her partner) kept Benji busy so we finished the project right as the bell rang. Today we are going to the art room right away... I hope it's a good day!

My reflection on the Academy 11-03-11

This week that was really last week wasn't terrible. We got a book to read for social studies, we had to read chapter 3 and 4 then we had a test on Monday about it.  We started doing a lab in science and in Ms. Millers class we are doing a group project about a book we are going to read called Mice and Men. In my group I have Sebastian, Benji and Alex. We are the Biographers, we are researching facts about Steinbeck ( the author of Mice and Men) and about his past.
I have been having troubles with my group because they are all guys and all they want to do is play video games. I was trying to find the answers to the questions on the data bases all by my self and it was really hard. But at the end of the day Benji stepped in and helped me find the answers and he also made the power point. Also Sebastian and Alex picked out the color for the power point.

My reflection on the Academy 10-28-11

This week only had three days of school! It was nice and simple. I really needed the extra days to sleep in because I was really tried.
On Wednesday three groups that didn't do the letters but they presented to the school board about their research and what they found was the best technology to use in school.
