My eyes are open

This poem really told how much the Native American love the Earth and how they helped the Earth. It made me think about what I do for the Earth and why I deserve to be here. When we sail over to American all we did was made crops and chop down trees to make houses. Now we have destroyed the Earth with roads and skyscrapers that are not needed. After hurting the Earth so much we are trying to save it by making chargeable cars, solar panels, windmills, etc. Instead of using more energy we should be planting more trees and plants to make up for what we cut down. We don't need cars and computers to live, just look at our past. It's really sad how far we have come and what we have done to destroy everything that we were offered like trees, food, water, shelter, and warmth. I believe we should plant flowers in front of the school or plant a tree somewhere on the property to show that our class cares. One little thing like planting a tree can make a difference to the Earth. We should start giving back and since yesterday was Earth day we could go along a road and pick up the garbage that people throw out of there cars. Reading this poem has opened my eyes to become a better person by helping out. I'm glad that the teachers have assigned us the project we are doing because we are saving the Earth at the same time we are doing school work and trying to get a good grade. It's time to make a difference and we are the one who need to make it.
